Duct is a series of thin-walled metal pipes that help distribute air in a building or structure.
“Duct” or “ductwork” is often confused with “duck.” Although both are impressive creations, they couldn’t be more opposite. Ductwork comes in a variety of types, size, material, and shapes.
SHEET METAL DUCTWORK
Round – Spiral ductwork is the most efficient mode to transport air in HVAC systems. Spiral pipe is gaining popularity due to its contemporary aesthetic appeal and efficiency. Spiral ductwork is made on a special machine that feeds slit metal into an interlocking seam, forming a spiral pattern pipe.
Rectangular/Square – Rectangular ductwork is used as main trunk lines in a HVAC system. This ductwork is perfect when ceiling space is a concern, rectangular ductwork maximizes the space above the ceiling.
Flat Oval – Oval ductwork is an efficient mode to transport air in HVAC systems, and like spiral pipe, is gaining popularity due to their contemporary aesthetic appeal and efficiency. Flat oval ductwork is made from slit metal that is spun into an interlocking seam, forming a spiral pattern pipe. The spiral pipe is then stretched out to the appropriate flat oval size.
Welded Grease Duct – welded grease duct vents flammable grease-laden vapors, usually from commercial cooking equipment, to outside the building. We ensure our duct fabrication is in compliance with NFPA 96 (“Standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations”). Check your building and local fire code for special requirements.
